On Tuesday morning, 23 June 2026, Roser AG welcomed a carpentry class from the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule Basel in Birsfelden. The group consisted of nine first-year apprentices training to become EBA-qualified carpenters and was accompanied by their tutor, Christof Dürrenberger.

During the approximately two-hour tour of the premises, the apprentices gained a practical insight into the world of wood-based materials, which is currently part of their curriculum. The visit to Roser AG therefore tied in perfectly with the course material. At the same time, the tour offered an early glimpse into the coming academic year, during which the topic of veneer will be covered – an area in which Roser AG has many years’ experience and particular expertise.

Patrick Altherr, Christoph Roser, Tobias Ackermann, Fabian Sager and Rafael Waber guided the group through the various sections of the plant. They showed the apprentices how versatile wood, wood-based materials and veneers are in everyday professional life, and the role that specialist knowledge, quality and attention to detail play in their daily work.

For the class, the visit was a fitting conclusion to their first year of apprenticeship and a successful outing before the summer holidays. For Roser AG, it was also a valuable opportunity to give young professionals an insight into a locally based company in the timber industry.

Roser AG has been committed to supporting the next generation of joiners for many years and is delighted to accompany apprentices on their career path, to inspire them and to foster their enthusiasm for the versatility of wood as a material.
