Embossed real wood veneers with a tactile texture
With Veneer Express Layons Structura, Roser AG is expanding its Layons range to include a new generation of textured real wood veneers. The embossed veneer features a distinctly tactile wood texture, achieved through a specially developed embossing process. The result is a high-quality real wood veneer with a distinctive feel that further emphasises the natural grain and lends the surface greater depth and character.
The Layons Structura range combines the tried-and-tested advantages of Veneer Express Layons with a particularly high-quality feel and increased surface density.
New Structura wood species available from stock
The Structura range is currently available in the following wood species:
Most variants are available directly from stock in the size 3100 × 1250 × 0.9 mm. We are happy to produce other sizes and project-specific dimensions on request.
Textured veneer with a natural feel and embossed surface
Layons Structura veneers are embossed with non-woven fabric after joining and backing with fleece. This creates a genuine textured veneer whose natural grain is not only visible but can also be felt. The textured veneer surface offers numerous design and technical advantages:
- a tactile wood texture with an authentic feel
- natural play of light and shadow
- a significantly more three-dimensional appearance
- greater surface density
- increased resistance to mechanical stress
- A modern alternative to traditional veneer surfaces
In-house Brinell tests show that surface density can be almost doubled, depending on the type of wood.
To achieve a particularly natural effect, veneers with rift, semi-rift and flower grain patterns are deliberately used. This makes the embossed surface even more clearly visible and gives every project its own unique character.
Tried-and-tested Veneer Express quality
The Structura range is also based on the tried-and-tested Veneer Express Layons veneers.
Each adhesive is:
- manufactured from high-quality veneers by Roser AG
- joined in large formats to create a plank-like appearance
- laminated with non-woven backing on the reverse
- delivered ready for installation
The non-woven backing increases the stability of the veneer, makes it easier to work with and reduces the risk of glue bleed-through – the same benefits that joiners are already familiar with from the classic Veneer Express Layons veneers.

Structura adhesives form part of the Veneer Express range and can be optimally combined with other products.

FAQ: Veneer Layons Structura
A Layons Structura is a pre-joined, real wood veneer laminated with non-woven fabric on the reverse side and featuring an embossed surface. The additional embossing gives the veneer a distinctly tactile wood grain and a particularly natural appearance. Layons Structura combines the ease of processing of the Veneer Express Layons range with a high-quality feel and increased surface density.
Embossed real wood veneers look more natural, as the wood grain is not only visible but can also be felt. At the same time, the embossing increases the surface density, making the veneer more resistant to mechanical stress. Structura is therefore particularly suitable for high-quality furniture, doors, wall panelling and interior fittings.
Yes. Like all Veneer Express Layons, Structura can be applied to standard substrate boards such as MDF, chipboard, multiplex or blockboard. The non-woven backing provides greater stability and reduces the risk of glue bleed-through during pressing. Roser AG would also be happy to carry out the pressing onto substrate boards on your behalf.

Our existing Layons Rustic timber varieties all have the same embossed surface. These are available as Rustic Natural Oak, Rustic Antique Oak, Rustic Stone Oak and Rustic Mocha Oak.

This produces an embossed veneer with texture, whose natural grain is not only visible but also clearly perceptible to the touch. The textured veneer surface creates a greater sense of depth as well as a natural play of light and shadow. At the same time, the authentic real-wood appearance is fully preserved. The result is a high-quality real-wood veneer with a distinctive tactile feel and enhanced surface density.
Yes. The best way to assess the feel of an embossed surface is to see the actual product. That is why Roser AG offers the option to order two Structura samples free of charge. This allows you to compare the wood species, texture and surface finish directly in your workshop and select the right option for your project.
Yes. Structura is made from genuine, naturally grown wood veneer. After joining and laminating, the surface is further embossed. This preserves the unique grain of the real wood and adds a tactile texture.
In principle, Structura can be further treated with suitable surface finishes. As varnishes and oils can affect the texture, colour and sense of depth, we recommend carrying out a test application before proceeding and following the instructions provided by the relevant surface finish manufacturer.
