Textured surfaces are playing an increasingly important role in interior design. Materials should not only look high-quality, but also feel authentic and natural. At the same time, they must withstand the rigours of everyday use.
With Veneer Express Layons Structura, the textured surface is created by specifically embossing the non-woven-backed real wood veneer. This process gives the veneer a distinct plank-like character and emphasises the natural effect of the wood grain.
However, the embossing does not merely alter the appearance; it also compacts the surface of the veneer.
To investigate the effect of embossing in greater detail, Roser AG carried out internal comparative tests based on the Brinell principle. These involved comparing unembossed veneer surfaces with the corresponding Structura surfaces.
The tests show that, depending on the type of wood, embossing can almost double the surface density. As a result, the densified surface may be less susceptible to localised pressure loads and indentations.
As these are internal comparative tests and not an external certification, the results may vary depending on the type of wood, substrate, coating and finish. Nevertheless, the tests clearly demonstrate the technical benefits of embossing.
Structura combines several properties that are particularly relevant for joiners, interior fitters and designers:
This makes Structura suitable for applications including furniture, doors, wall cladding, reception areas, shopfitting and other high-quality interior fittings.
Roser AG produces and inspects the veneers used in-house. This allows the wood grain, quality and finish to be specifically tailored to one another. After joining and non-woven backing, the surface is embossed to give it its characteristic Structura texture.
The combination of natural solid wood, a clear structure and rapid availability makes Structura a cost-effective solution for projects where both the appearance and the durability of the surface play an important role.
The best way to assess the effect of the surface is with a real sample. Interested joiners, architects, interior designers and building owners can therefore order two free Structura samples and directly compare the wood species, texture and feel.
The standard variants are available in the dimensions 3100 × 1250 × 0.9 mm directly from the Roser warehouse and are usually dispatched within two to three working days. For urgent projects, express delivery within 24 hours is also available on request.
We currently have the following wood species in the Structura range:
Our fixed-size Rustic variants have the same embossed surface and have been our bestsellers for years.
