IFN General Meeting 2025 – an inspiring gathering of the international veneer industry
We at Roser AG are delighted to have hosted this year's General Meeting of the Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) on 12 and 13 June 2025 at our premises in Birsfelden. It was a great honour for us to welcome over 35 participants from Switzerland and abroad and to provide an inspiring setting for professional and personal exchange.

The event was dominated by the theme of European and international change and the strengthening and expansion of important networks in the veneer industry.

At the beginning, we commemorated IFN Managing Director Ursula Geismann, who passed away in February. Axel Groh paid tribute to her many years of creative work for the industry and introduced the new interim managing director, Dirk-Uwe Klaas, who will continue her work in her spirit.

The subsequent specialist presentations opened up new perspectives: from innovative applications for veneer and current developments relating to the EUDR to the important topics of EPDs and sustainability certificates. The contributions by Dr. Oliver Kläusler (Swiss Wood Solution AG) and Dr. Predrag Sretenovic (TIMBERplus) were particularly exciting.

A particular highlight was the live link-up with the Canadian Hardwood & Veneer Association and the Timber Veneer Association of Australia. The exchange with our international partners clearly demonstrated how important global cooperation is in our industry – and that we can achieve a great deal together.

The general meeting was accompanied by a harmonious supporting programme: a joint evening at the restaurant ‘Le Rhin Bleu’ in Basel, an impressive Rhine cruise in the border triangle and a guided tour of the Novartis Campus left a lasting impression.

We would like to thank all participants for their enthusiastic participation, valuable dialogue and constructive cooperation. It was a great pleasure for us to host this special event – and we are already looking forward to seeing you again at one of our next events.
