Detailed Description

A tree up to 50 m high, up to 30 m knotless and 150 cm in diameter, but usually weaker. The bark detaches itself similar to the plane tree. The sloping pieces of bark leave red-blue spots on the grey to brownish-grey trunk bark.

Characteristic and wood color

The sapwood is almost white, very narrow and yellowed. The heartwood is well separated, yellowish green, brownish to olive, later darkening to dark yellow to yellow-brown. The wood is decorative and often forms narrow and regular stripes.
