"The advice from Roser was excellent - from the first conversation through to implementation. We are particularly impressed by the calm parquet flooring and the almost invisible doors, which are a perfect match for our modern house. As a thank you, I invited Nico Strittmatter and Linus Treyer to a house inspection and aperitif after the project was completed." | ||||||
In this private residence in Basel, the focus was on one clear goal: modern, purist architecture with a look that radiates maximum tranquillity. Materials, colours and details were to be deliberately understated while conveying the highest quality and a warm living atmosphere.
A virtually knot-free white oiled oak plank floor was chosen as the basis for the entire room concept. The unfastened design creates a particularly calm and spacious surface that visually opens up the rooms and creates a natural, elegant atmosphere. The parquet flooring was consistently extended and also used on the stairs, creating a flowing transition between the levels and emphasising the harmonious overall picture.
A defining design element of the house are the flush doors, which integrate almost invisibly into the architecture. The high-quality designer interior doors were finished with a precisely plastered aluminium frame, giving them the appearance of frameless doors. Only the fine shadow gaps allow the doors to be discreetly recognised in the wall.
Technically, the doors impress with high-quality details such as concealed door hinges and an elegant magnetic latch lock in black. These solutions not only ensure a clear, minimalist look, but also particularly comfortable and durable functionality. A special highlight is the graphite-coloured glass door in the bedroom, which brings transparency and lightness to the architectural concept.
The very flat skirting boards in RAL 9003 further emphasise the clean lines and harmonise perfectly with the flush doors and minimalist architecture.
Comprehensive advice, planning and on-site measurements by Nico Strittmatter, Roser AG ensured that all elements – from the parquet flooring to the designer interior doors with aluminium frames – were implemented with technical precision and design consistency.
